Archaeology for all
Welcome to the South Midlands group of the Council for British Archaeology, an
autonomous local group under the umbrella of the national CBA body. The CBA-SM covers
four counties — Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire. We
are an educational charity working to involve people in archaeology and to promote the
appreciation and care of the historic environment for the benefit of the present and
future generations.
Our aim with this site is to provide information, advice and resources to those wishing to
know more about the archaeology of the South Midlands or to become involved in practical
ways with fieldwork, research or conservation. Let us know what you would like to find
here!
This is a new website, and much more will be added to it over the coming months. It
replaces our old website at www.cba-southmidlands.org.uk — this will continue to exist
during the transition, but hasn’t been updated since 2011.
