The Open University
The OU offers a select variety of short courses with new modules in World Archaeology and Culture, identity and power in the Roman empire in 2008, as Distance Learning options.

The Workers’ Educational Association (WEA)
WEA offers a variety of short courses at its regional centers throughout the UK. Check their website for availability.

U3A
U3A stands for the University of the Third Age, which is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. It consists of local U3As all over the UK, which are charities in their own right and are run entirely by volunteers.

Nautical Archaeology Society
The NAS is a registered charity to promote local, national and international interest in our nautical heritage, maritime, and underwater archaeology. This registered charity also offers a full training programme of diving qualifications, plus the Certificate and Diploma in Foreshore and Underwater Archaeology.
