MEPF Logo Defra’s public consultation on the Aggregate Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF) announced the continuation of the Fund for a further 3 years, commencing July 2008 to 31 March 2011. In Summer 2008, the MEPF (as ALSF delivery partner on behalf of Defra) successfully commissioned a suite of projects covering the 5 Marine ALSF strategic themes (see MALSF Science Review 2008.

The Marine ALSF Steering Group now wishes to invite Expressions of Interest. Closing date for applications is 12 noon 30 June 2009.

Projects must be able to commence no earlier than 01 September 2009 and must complete before 31 December 2010. Staggered start and end dates for projects will be selected by the MEPF unless bidders advise that project dates are fixed. The MEPF reserves the right to negotiate project payment schedules with successful contractors in alignment with Defra ALSF financial year budgets.

It is anticipated that individual projects will not exceed £200k in total (excl. VAT); the Marine ALSF Steering Group may commission higher-value projects to directly match requirements. The total budget available for this call is in the region of £2million.
