David Baker was Conservation and Archaeology Officer for Bedfordshire County Planning Department until 1997 and is now a consultant. He has been a member of the St Albans DAC since 1973. He has excavated at several monastic sites. He was a member of the CCC's Archaeological Working Party, and co-author of the Church Heritage Record Report (2000). He is currently Vice-Chairman of the Advisory Board on Redundant Churches.


Evelyn Baker was manager of the former Bedfordshire County Archaeology Service (now Albion Archaeology) until 1998 and is now a consultant. She has excavated at several monastic sites. She has a particular interest in medieval floor tiles. She was editor of Bedfordshire Archaeology from 1986-96. She is currently Vice-Chair (Standards) of the IFA.
