Making Your Donation go Further
When you donate money to the CBA in the normal way you are giving out of your taxed income (you have already paid tax on any money you have left each month/week from which you give to the CBA). When you choose Payroll Giving your donation is taken from your pay before tax is deducted. Simply put, your donation is worth more to the CBA and costs you less.
To make your donation go even further, why not ask your employer to match the donation you give!
What do you need to do?
Ask your payroll department to deduct regular charitable donations from your salary by filling out a simple form, stating how much you would like to give and nominating the CBA as the recipient charity. Your donations will show on your payslip.
If your employer does not already have a Payroll Giving scheme in place, don’t worry it’s quick and easy to set up. Employers can start a payroll giving scheme by signing up to a contract with a Payroll Giving Agency. The agency will then pass donations to us on their behalf. Give your employers this link to help them get more information about signing up with a scheme.
Here you can access a list of payroll giving agencies.
You can contact Cherida Plumb, Head of Development, or Peter Olver, Finance Director to discuss how to make your donation to the CBA tax efficient.
