How We Are Currently Funded
Never underestimate the power of membership!
We currently have around 10,000 members and subscribers from all over the world, and this is increasing every day. Adult, youth and affiliate memberships and subscriptions account for around 23% of the CBA’s income. Without you the breadth and scope of our work would be significantly reduced.
The combined number of our members, subscribers and supporters together show decision makers that archaeology is important. The more members we have the more people will listen to our message!
Regular giving
In addition to the vital income provided by membership fees, we also have a number of members and supporters who give regular or one-off donations to the CBA. These supporters provide a valuable additional source of income that enables us to plan and grow our work to meet the ever-present need to speak out for archaeology, to encourage the discovery and circulation of new information, and to help others to get involved.
Our organisational supporters
The CBA is supported by a number of organisations who recognise the importance of our activities by providing grants and donations. We are grateful for the support received and would particularly like to acknowledge the following
- The British Academy
- English Heritage
- Historic Scotland
- Cadw
- Towergate Insurance
- Esmée Fairbairn Foundation
- The Headley Trust
- York Archaeological Trust
- The Arnold Burton 1998 Charitable Trust
- The Holbeck Charitable Trust
- Andante Travels
We need your help
If we are to continue to increase our work for archaeology on your behalf, we need more support! Please take a look at the Development Campaign pages for more information about current priorities. We hope these will inspire you to support our work and spread the word.
There are many different ways you can support the CBA’s work, so please take some time to browse this section of the website and consider ways in which you can help us.
Thank you.
