Payroll Giving
Giving Direct from your Payroll

Payroll Giving is a unique way for people to give regularly to charity. It allows employees, or occupational pensioners (anyone taxed through PAYE), to give money to any UK charity directly from their pay, before tax is deducted. This means that for the level of gift you specify, it will cost you less.
Currently, over £85 million is raised in the UK for charitable causes through Payroll Giving, but there is scope for much more.
Please consider if you can afford to give a regular donation to the CBA in this way. This form of donation is a regular income, which will allow us to plan for the future.
How does it work?
Apart from the knowledge that you have given a great deal financially to the CBA and, therefore, to the future of archaeology, Payroll Giving is extremely simple to use. Once your donation is set up, you don’t have to do anything. Payroll Giving will ensure a regular gift, each week or month, is going to the CBA.
For example:
| Donation to the CBA (what we get) | How much it actually costs you | |
|---|---|---|
| 20% taxpayer | 40% taxpayer | |
| £5.00 | £4.00 | £3.00 |
| £10.00 | £8.00 | £6.00 |
| £50.00 | £40.00 | £30.00 |
You can contact Cherida Plumb, Head of Development, or Peter Olver, Finance Director to discuss how to make your donation to the CBA tax efficient.
