A one-day in person and online Memorial Conference for Dr Malcolm Lyne will be held on Saturday 16 November, 10am-5pm, at Kings Church Hall, Lewes, Sussex, 10am-5pm. Dr Lyne was an exceptional scholar who made many contributions to the archaeology of South-East England. He was foremost a Roman pottery expert.
Programme


The speakers will be Simon Coleman, Chris Butler, Dr Anna Doherty, Dr Anthony Durham, Jerry Evans, Arthur Franklin, Professor Mike Fulford, Dr Lilian Ladle, Thomas Martin, Dr Sam Moorhead, Dr Philip Smither, Kevin Trott, Dr Rebecca Welshman, and Dr Steve Willis. Topics will include Malcolm’s life and work, Roman pottery, coins of Carausius and Allectus, the Richborough archive, Pevensey, Lewes Priory, and Roman and early Saxon place names around the Solent.


This conference is being organised by the Sussex School of Archaeology & History in association with the Council for British Archaeology South-East
