Archaeology Elsewhere

Archaeology Elsewhere is our comprehensive round-up of archaeological events taking place around the country. As part of our aspiration to champion archaeology for all, it is completely free to list events here and promote them to a wide audience. For convenience, we have divided the different archaeology events into the following categories.

  • Conferences: Major archaeology or heritage-themed conferences in the UK and abroad.
  • Fieldwork: Opportunities to take part in a dig, from basic taster days to multi-week projects.
  • Short Courses: Ranging from one-off talks to multi-day courses on important archaeological topics.
  • Talks and Lectures: Listings for both live and online upcoming talks.
  • Networking and Skills Development: Opportunities to meet new people in the discipline, share ideas, and learn new skills.

Please be aware that most of the events are arranged by third parties and we cannot guarantee the type or quality of facilities provided on-site.

*Any events posted here are subject to change and may be affected by pandemic restrictions – please contact the event organisers with any queries.

Do you have an Event to Promote?

Tell us about your events and we will include them in Archaeology Elsewhere, listing them in the next issue of the British Archaeology magazine and online on our website. To send over your event details, please visit our contact us page.

Please note that due to space limitations it is not always possible to include all events within the printed magazine, but they will always be listed online.
