Do you want to find out about volunteering, further study and careers in archaeology, heritage and related fields? Would you like advice on writing a personal statement or EPQ? Are you 18+ and thinking about a career change?
Come and chat to academics and heritage professionals from a range of organisations, including the School of Archaeology and Ancient History, University of Leicester, the History Department at the University of Northampton, the Leather Conservation Centre and Museum, the Northants Heritage Forum, University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) and Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA).
The informal drop-in will run 1130-1430 in the Learning Centre and Museum building at the Chester House Estate.
The University of Leicester and Chester House team will run archaeological taster sessions for young people (11-18) throughout the day, which will include an introduction to archaeological excavation (on site), object handling and a tour of the Archaeological Resource Centre. We have 15 spaces per slot. Sessions will run:
0900-1030 (11-15 age group) 1100-1230 (11-15 age group) 1300-1430 (16-18 age group)
1500-1630 (16-18 age group). Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
