Learn more about York's fascinating heritage on a guided walk with Neil Redfern, Executive Director of the Council for British Archaeology. After growing up north of York, Neil has spent the last 23 years living and working in the city. Actively involved in the management of the city's archaeology and heritage this Archaeological Ramble will focus on some sites and stories that have interested him the most.

The walks will start and finish at the Council for British Archaeology's office. The address is De Grey House, St Leonard's Place, York, YO1 7HE.
The walk will begin at 11am but please arrive at the CBA office at 10.45am so we are ready for a prompt start. The walk will last approximately 2.5 hours.
The event is free to attend but places will be limited to 20 people per tour so booking is essential.

The event will take place in all weathers so please come prepared, there will be some sections where the ground may be uneven so please wear appropriate footwear. If you have any mobility issues please let us know by contacting [email protected] in advance of the walk so we can ensure the walk is suitably paced. It will take place within the City Walls which are mostly pedestrianised but expect the need to use designated road crossings and encounter uneven surfaces and kerbs.
