Does it cost me to opt-in to Gift Aid?

No, provided you are a UK taxpayer and have paid more income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the value of the Gift Aid Claim on your donation / membership.

If you haven't paid enough tax but make a Gift Aid donation, you may be required to need to pay the difference in income tax to HMRC.

How much more will my CBA membership be worth?

For every donation you give, we get an extra 25% from the government. So if you have a standard CBA membership, we can claim an additional £11 from the Government. Gift Aid also applies to donations that you’ve made in the past, up to four years ago.

Are there any hidden charges?

No. Gift Aid is taken from tax you’ve already paid, so there’s no charge to you. It doesn’t alter your tax status either.

Can I cancel this declaration?

You can opt out of Gift Aid at any time, simply by telling us you wish to do so. You’re not committing yourself to any future donations by signing the form.

Can I opt in to Gift Aid for multiple charities?

Yes! You can opt in to Gift Aid at multiple charities. You just have to tick the Gift Aid declaration for each charity you support, and make sure you pay enough tax to cover them. if you’re unsure, feel free to email us at [email protected].

I'm retired. Can I opt in to Gift Aid?

You are eligible to Gift Aid donations if you pay income tax or capital gains tax, provided that you have paid sufficient tax throughout the year to cover the amount being reclaimed on your donations.

If you solely rely on your pension and do not pay tax, you are not eligible for Gift Aid.
