Welcome to the Council for British Archaeology's

Festival of Archaeology Event Organiser materials area

 

The 2025 Festival of Archaeology will take place between the 19th July to the 3rd August 2025 following the theme “Archaeology and Wellbeing” 

 

Thank you so much for considering organising an event (in-person or online) or submitting a resource and joining the UK's largest annual celebration of archaeology. To access the materials you simply need to create an account to get started. If you are have previously registered to submit an event or resource or you are a CBA member you can login using your existing details. 

As part of the CBA Festival of Archaeology you will have access to some amazing resources that are available all year round. This includes the use of the official Festival of Archaeology branding (logos and banners), a range of toolkits to help you develop your event and guidance to help you with the practicalities like risk assessments, safeguarding and evaluation. You will also receive regular Event Organiser newsletters and have access to our online drop-in clinics. In the lead up to and during the Festival we will do our best to publicise your event and we'll also provide you with the tools to help you promote your activity. If you submit a resource it will be available throughout the year helping you connect with the CBA's audiences beyond the Festival. 

In return for all the support we are offering we would like you and your organisation to help us continue to make the Festival fantastic by ensuring that your events are uploaded to the event listing, you take advantage of the official CBA Festival of Archaeology branding  and you take part in the Festival evaluation so we can continue to showcase the impact our collective efforts have to make archaeology more accessible.

Not only do we recieve fantastic feedback from organisers and attendees, we also have a large digital reach during the festival. By submitting your event, you open your event to wide digital audience. Here's a quick glimpse at our 2024 impact!

Organising an Event? We’re Here to Help!

We’re particularly interested in supporting events from areas of underrepresentation. As you can see from our event map, there are regions where fewer events (represented by the lighter green areas) take place—these are our 'cold spots.'

If you’re based in one of these areas or have a unique idea that can reach underrepresented communities, we’d love to hear from you! Our team can provide tailored advice, promotional support, and resources to help bring your event to life.
