Leave a Lasting Legacy

Give the Past a Future. Your support will enable us to continue our work to create more opportunities for people of all ages to participate in archaeology, and care and campaign for our historic environment.

Leaving us a Legacy

Have you considered including a gift to the Council for British Archaeology in your will? Legacies can make a huge difference to our work. By providing for a good cause that is close to your heart, you can leave a mark on the world.

A charitable donation in your will that is free of inheritance tax can also help reduce the tax burden on your estate. In some instances, it need not have any effect on the inheritance you give to loved ones.

To leave a legacy to us, simply include details of the donation in your will. This can be done by writing a will or making an amendment to an existing will. Speak to your solicitor or professional advisor to find out more.

Remembering a Loved One

Honour someone special with a donation in their memory. Your gift will serve as a lasting tribute and help protect the archaeology they cherished.

Here’s how your donation can make a difference:

  • £100 – Trains a new volunteer to help protect listed buildings
  • £200 – Creates new online resources to support careers in archaeology
  • £500 – Helps launch a new branch of the Young Archaeologists’ Club
  • £1,000 – Funds new events for the Festival of Archaeology

Every gift, no matter the size, helps us continue our mission.

Donate here, or write a cheque addressed to the Council for British Archaeology at De Grey House, St Leonard’s Place, York, YO1 7HE.
