Welcome to the CBA's brand new Out and About Archaeology event.

Over the week of 18-26 May 2024 we will be out and about exploring places across the UK. With a range of in-person guided walks, a new online tour and a host of self-guided walks and activities, there are plenty of options to get involved.

CBA staff will also be undertaking a sponsored walk, covering the 202 miles from the Burlington House in London where the CBA held its first meeting 80 years ago, to our current office at De Grey House in York.

Help support our walk by donating to our JustGiving campaign, or explore events near you and other exciting ways of getting involved!

Reconnecting Archaeology

Out and About archaeology is the first project in our plans for the 'Reconnecting Archaeology project'. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project aims to help connect archaeology to a wider audience and to help break down barriers to engagement faced by marginalised groups and communities.
