Over the weekend of 18-26 May 2024 we were out and about exploring places across the UK. Whilst our Out and About weekend live events are over, you can still get involved with a new online tour and a host of self-guided walks and activities online!

CBA staff also undertook a sponsored walk, having one week to walk 202 miles, the eqivilent distance from the Burlington House in London where the CBA held its first meeting 80 years ago, to our current office at De Grey House in York. We covered our goal in less than four days, reaching a total of 373.53 miles!

If you enjoyed taking part in our event, or want to continue to support our sponsored walk, please consider donating to our JustGiving campaign. plus, there is still lots to explore -  discover events near you and other exciting ways of getting involved!

Reconnecting Archaeology

Out and About archaeology is the first project in our plans for the 'Reconnecting Archaeology project'. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project aims to help connect archaeology to a wider audience and to help break down barriers to engagement faced by marginalised groups and communities.
