This morning course is aimed at archaeologists and heritage professionals who use, write or commission archaeological desk-based assessments (DBAs).
It will address the different elements of a DBA to equip delegates with insight into and an understanding of:
- Exactly what DBAs are and when they are required
- Their main purpose
- The contents of a DBA
- How they fit in within the stages of development, and
- How they can be used to provide meaningful assessment of significance and potential for impact of a development to archaeological significance.
The course will be led by Tim Murphy IHBC MCIfA, the Historic Environment Manager at Place Services. In this role, Tim manages the delivery of both historic building and archaeological development control support to local planning authorities across the UK.
