Autumn Equinox Volunteer Action Camp on an Iron Age Fort in East Sussex - The Boar Oak Project
Work days - Saturday 24 and Sunday 25th September 2022
Arrival - Friday 23rd - Leave by 11am Monday 26th - Work hours 10 - 4pm
Join Simon to celebrate the Cross Quarter Celtic Festival within an ancient woodland. Immerse yourself in rural crafts, practical tasks, fire and feasting while camping on a real Iron Age Fort from the native Celtic tribe.
Volunteer roles
- Chef and Assistant
- Task workers
- Team leaders
Project tasks:
- Phase 1 of the underground sweat lodge excavations and sieving cob mix
- Clearing ground for earth clamp - charcoal burning site
- Draw knife bark peeling for timber building projects
- Woodland management - ground clearing
Contribution - £20 - £30 per person based on what you can afford. Free entry for the chef - Included foods and firewood. Free camping.
Kit you need to bring
- You will need a tent, bed roll, and sleeping bag, plus personal hygiene supplies
- Casual working clothes including work boots, waterproofs, and warm clothes, & hot water bottle
- Snacks and any extra needs (special food diets), and plate/bowl/mug/cutlery
- There is a basic compost loo on site. No dogs unless prearranged. No drink and drugs.
