Immerse yourself in rural crafts, practical tasks, fire, hearth, singing and feasting while camping on a real Iron Age Fort from the native Celtic tribe... AND LEAP THE FIRE!
Be part of the epic and ancient craft of charcoal burning!

Project tasks may include:
The Charcoal burn
> Build earth clamp
> Lighting of the clamp
> Shift rotation watching over the clamp
> Building charcoal burner’s hut
> Opening of the clamp
> Cooling & grading charcoal
>>> Contribution £26 - £32 per adult and £16 - 21 per child (over 10 years old) based on what you can afford.
- Includes food & firewood and free camping. (Free entry for the chef and team leaders)

There is always a strong hearth burning to warm yourself by. You are welcome to come for the whole weekend or just for the day, as long as you come early enough to join for the whole day.

‣ If staying - a tent, bed roll and sleeping bag plus personal hygiene supplies (wash gear & towel)
‣ Casual work clothes including work boots, waterproofs + warm clothes & hot water bottle.
‣ Snacks & any extra needs (special food diets) + plate, bowl, mug and cutlery.
‣ There is a basic compost loo on site. No dogs unless prearranged. No drink and drugs.
