YAC takes seriously its responsibilities for protecting the children who attend our Branches. All our volunteers are required to disclose details of any criminal record and agree to us carrying out an enhanced disclosure check. Only relevant convictions and other information will be taken into account when assessing your application, so disclosure of a criminal record need not bar you from becoming a volunteer. Please answer the following two questions:

Please note: we cannot process your application without this number; please contact Disclosure Scotland if you have lost it.

Please note: if you do not consent to PVG Scheme Membership and Scheme Status (and live in Scotland) you will not be eligible to volunteer with YAC

REFEREES

All YAC volunteers must supply details of two referees. Please note:

  • Your referees must not be related to you or to each other. They cannot be your partner, spouse or guardian, or any relative of these.

  • You must be in regular contact with both referees, e.g. by phone or email.
