CBA President, Raksha Dave, wins Current Archaeology's 'Archaeologist of the Year Award'

Congratulations are in order for Raksha Dave on her win of Current Archaeology's prestigious Archaeologist of the Year award for 2022!

A field archaeologist, public archaeologist, broadcaster, and of course our current President of the Council for British Archaeology, Raksha is very deserving of this esteemed award.

During 10 years of Channel 4s Time Team, she has excavated over 100 sites, including Holyrood Palace and the D-Day defences. She has also worked on numerous documentaris and primetime TV programmes, incuding Countdown to War, The Great Plague, Pompeii's Final Hours: New Evidence and Digging up Britain's Past.

Raksha has also developed and managed various National Lottery Heritage-funded community projects, as well as being an advocate and patron for the Young Archaeologists' Club.
