Royal Archaeological Institute

The Royal Archaeological Institute is a registered charity that aims to support archaeology at all levels in the UK. It was founded in 1844 and publishes the internationally-renowned Archaeological Journal.

The RAI plays an active role in UK heritage, providing research grants, collaborating on public policy, and advocating on pressing issues that impact the sector. Members play an active part in the Institute, with access to the Journal, lectures, annual conferences, newsletters, and meetings. The RAI is delighted to support the early careers award to encourage the next generation of archaeologists. Dr Penny Bickle is the early careers officer for the RAI and will be promoted to Professor of Funerary Archaeology at the University of York in October 2024.

National Trust

National Trust

As Europe’s largest conservation charity, the National Trust look after nature, beauty and history for everyone to enjoy. They do it with the help of millions of members, volunteers, staff and donors. Without this, they couldn’t care for the miles of coastline, woodlands, countryside and the hundreds of historic buildings, gardens and precious collections they protect.

The CBA collaborates closely with the National Trust in various ways, from co-hosting events for the annual Festival of Archaeology to working on smaller joint projects. Together, we share a common goal: to help champion and care for our shared places.

Historic England

Historic England

Historic England are the public body that helps people care for, enjoy and celebrate England's spectacular historic environment.

They protect, champion and save the places that define who we are and where we've come from as a nation. They care passionately about the stories they tell, the ideas they represent and the people who live, work and play among them.

Working with communities and specialists they share our passion, knowledge and skills to inspire interest, care and conservation, so everyone can keep enjoying and looking after the history that surrounds us all.
