Join us in celebrating the Festival of Archaeology this July by booking onto one of our three archaeological experience weekends.
13th-14th July
20th-21st July
27th-28th July
Professional archaeologists will teach you the basics of excavation and recording on a live archaeological site. In addition to digging you will get the chance to try other activities that we rely upon to interpret an archaeological site, such as geophysics and surveying.
Copped Hall, a Georgian mansion, being lovingly restored to it's former glory by the Copped Hall Trust hides a secret in the gardens...the remains of a former Copped Hall, that was once a Tudor palace which hosted Queen Elizabeth I herself! It is this house and it's surrounding gardens that WEAG will be investigating, on behalf of the Copped Hall Trust Archaeological Project.
We welcome all ages (10+) although those under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult also booked onto the course. Perfect for all lovers of history and archaeology, an ideal taster if you are considering studying at university or taking up a new hobby.
Course costs £75 for the weekend.
Please feel free to ask any questions on Facebook/Instagram or email [email protected].
Gift certificates can be sent if you wish to purchase a weekend for someone special.
