Handle 1800-Year-Old Archaeological Treasures at Chedworth Roman Villa

Runs throughout festival

This Festival of Archaeology, discover genuine and replica Roman artefacts at Chedworth Roman Villa. Objects range from original mosaic pieces that once decorated grand floors to everyday pottery that held Roman meals nearly two millennia ago. Handle intricate jewellery, examine roof tiles, and feel the weight of ancient bones. Our knowledgeable volunteers will guide you through each discovery, sharing the fascinating stories these objects tell about daily life in Roman Britain. Each piece connects you directly to the people who lived and worked at Chedworth centuries ago.
