2024 Harpathon at Kilmartin Museum

10:00 AM

Visitors to Kilmartin Museum will be able to listen to, and support young harpists from Fèis an Tairbeirt. Kilmartin Museum is delighted to support local charity 'Fèis an Tairbeirt'. The charity provides an opportunity for children of all ages, who live in Mid-Argyll and Kintyre, to learn Gaelic Arts and Traditional music. For this special 'drop in' event the children will be playing their harps (clàrsachs) in a 'Harpathon' with the aim of raising money towards the purchase of two new harps. They will be supported by their tutor Alicia Chapple, along with members of the Argyll Clarsach Society who will openly encourage visitors to the museum to 'pluck a string' to give it a go!

The Harpathon will take place in the museum garden

"Tha fàilte chridheil oirbh uile! A warm welcome to all!"
