Missing Pieces - share your stories and photographs on the National Heritage List for England
10:00 AM
Can you be Historic England's latest reporter on the historic sites near you?
All over England are places with stories to tell: from buildings to battlefields, some on your doorstep, others just a day trip away. Their stories are still being written – and they won’t be complete until you share your side.
The Missing Pieces Project is Historic England’s invitation to the public to share their pictures and stories of the unique, significant, and memorable places on the National Heritage List for England. Everyone’s pictures and stories combine to create a rich resource that other people will find useful today, and that will be valuable for future generations as well. By adding pictures and stories, people are helping to build something with lasting value.
Your view of a place is as unique as you are, so every snapshot and story you add to the Missing Pieces Project is an important piece of the picture. And the more pieces of the picture we have, the better we can protect what makes these places special.
As part of the Association for Industrial Archaeology's Festival of Archaeology day at Ironbridge, based in the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, Historic England staff will be on hand to show visitors how to sign up to add their photos and stories to List entries - we'll set you some challenges of how to take great photos and capture your memories of historic places! We'll have written guidance on signing up and taking part, as well as activity sheets - both available in large format.

Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, Coach Road, Coalbrookdale, Telford, Shropshire, TF8 7DQ, United Kingdom
