On the ground

Site and Self: A Photowalk Exploring Personal Heritage and Archaeology

1:45 PM

Join artists Adam (Han-Chun) Lin and Abigail Tinnion for a free photowalk around Cliffe Castle Museum and Park.

As we explore the museum’s grounds, we’ll consider the site’s layers of history and uncover visual and emotional connections to our own personal stories. Guided by the artists, participants will follow prompts around the theme of heritage and use photography as a tool to record and visually express their findings.

The photowalk is part of the Council for British Archaeology’s finale event at Cliffe Castle celebrating the end of the 2025 Festival of Archaeology. This year’s theme explores the connection between archaeology and wellbeing. The photowalk will draw on this theme, encouraging participants to be creative, mindful and present.

Participants can bring their own cameras or phones to take photographs with. We will also have a selection of cameras available should you need one on the day.
