The first of the 2022-23 GlosArch hybrid lecture series will take place Monday, 26th September at 7.30 pm.
This month’s speaker will be Emma Stuart, Learning Development Officer, Corinium Museum. Her topic is “An Introduction to the Corinium Mosaics”
If you wish to attend in person, we are at the usual venue, St Andrew’s URC church hall, Montpellier St, Cheltenham GL50 1SP. Alternatively, the lecture will also be broadcast live via Zoom. Either way attendance remains free of charge for GlosArch members.
Next month Mark Brett of Cotswold Archaeology will be talking about their work at the Forest Green Rovers site near the M5 at Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, and in November Professor Chris Dyer will be the speaker. His topic will be the Mediaeval peasants of Gloucestershire.
Sadly, since the Heritage Lottery Fund grant that supported last season’s lectures, has run out we are now having to charge for attendance. Each lecture will cost £5 to attend, which can be paid by bank transfer. To receive the GlosArch bank details, and be added to the circulation for the Zoom link, please email [email protected]
Alternatively, for £15 you can join GlosArch. As a member all lectures are free to attend and, if you miss one, you will receive a link to the recordings of all lectures (if we are permitted by the lecturer to record them). You will also receive a copy of our annual journal, Glevensis, two newsletters per year and regular emails which often include details of other events that can be attended online. Should you live within reach of Gloucestershire, you will also be entitled to take part in our fieldwork activities. To join GlosArch, please visit our website.
