York Archaeological Forum Conference 2026

The 2026 York Archaeological Forum Conference will begin with a round-up of recent archaeological and heritage related work in the city, accompanied by a display of finds from recent fieldwork by York Archaeology and information stalls representing local groups and societies.

The second session will focus on York’s City Walls, marking the centenary of the first formal excavations by Steuart Miller with a review of his work and how it has led to the current understanding of these magnificent monuments.

We are also delighted to celebrate the forthcoming restoration of the memorial to Dr Jeff Radley at the Anglian Tower by welcoming as our special guest his son, Ian Radley, who will present a talk on his father’s life and career in archaeology.
