CBA South Midlands

CBA South Midlands covers the counties of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, and Oxfordshire.
Their activities include two conferences per year, focusing on the results of recent archaeological excavations across the South Midlands. Members also receive a copy of their South Midlands Archaeology journal, which aims to provide a comprehensive summary of all the last year's fieldwork within the region. They organise occasional visits to see ongoing excavations taking place and also arrange training workshops on subjects such as pottery identification. They offer grant funding to their members to help cover the costs of their own research.

The Council for British Archaeology works with eleven local CBA groups in England and Wales, and in Scotland with our sister organisation, Archaeology Scotland. These groups operate separately from the head CBA and manage their own activities and governance.
