Places of Memory and Meaning Competition – Terms & Conditions
- Promoter
This competition is organised by the Council for British Archaeology (CBA). - Eligibility
The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over at the time of entry.
Employees of the Council for British Archaeology, Tewkesbury History Festival, and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
- Competition Period
Entries must be submitted by 12am on 21/05/26 . Entries received after this time will not be considered. - How to Enter
To enter, participants must submit:
- The name or location of a place of memory and meaning
- A written response of up to 300 words explaining why the place matters to them
Optional photographs may also be submitted.
Only one entry per person will be accepted.
- Prize
Two sets of winners will each receive two tickets to Tewkesbury History Festival's Stonehenge event and a goody bag including a copy of Archaeologist and broadcaster Julian Richards' new book.
The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered. Travel, accommodation, food, and any additional expenses are not included.
- Winner Selection
Entries will be chosen at random. - Winner Notification
The winner will be contacted using the email address provided during entry. If the winner does not respond within 7 days, the Council for British Archaeology reserves the right to select another winner. - Use of Entries
By entering the competition, participants grant the Council for British Archaeology permission to publish, reproduce, and share submitted entries, including optional photographs, across its digital platforms, social media channels, reports, publications, and promotional materials.
Entrants will always be credited where reasonably possible.
- Data Protection
Personal data submitted as part of the competition will only be used for the administration of the competition and related communications, unless entrants have separately opted in to receive further communications. - General
The Council for British Archaeology reserves the right to amend or withdraw the competition at any time where necessary.
