Places of Memory and Meaning Submissions

To help us add your place to our map, please provide as much additional information as you can about its location.

If you can, please share one or two pictures of the place you have told us about. This helps to bring the place to life and makes it easier for someone who has never been there before to imagine what it is like. 

Your image could be a photograph, but we also welcome photos of artwork and creative writing.  

Please remember to get the permission of any people in your photographs before uploading. 

You can upload a maximum of two pictures. Images must be less than 5MB and can be in jpeg, jpg, or png format. 

We may choose to feature your submission in promotional material about Places of Memory and Meaning, including on the CBA website and social media channels. If you are happy for us to do this, please tick the box below. 

There may also be opportunities to contribute a larger piece (c.300 words) and a photograph of your chosen place to the CBA blog or British Archaeology magazine. If you are interested in doing this, please tick the box below and provide your email address at the end of the form.   

You do not have to provide us with an email address, but doing so means we can contact you if there are any issues uploading your submission to the Places of Memory and Meaning map and let you know when your place has been uploaded.

It will also enable us to contact you if you have expressed an interest in writing a larger piece on your place. 

We will not contact you about anything other than your submission, and you can find out more about how we hold your information in our Privacy Policy.
