Cotswold Archaeology Volunteer
Our rolling program provides diverse opportunities at our offices in Cirencester, Andover, Milton Keynes, and Suffolk, as well as project-specific roles. Recent projects have included marking human remains from Roman Gloucester for museum deposition, excavating a Roman tile kiln in Minety, processing finds from a B17 plane crash site, and preparing Roman pottery for deposition from a site in Wickham.
Our volunteers experience working in a vibrant commercial archaeological company, get to talk to staff members about their roles and careers, attend toolbox talks and participate in our Competency Log scheme, whereby we provide documentation of any training you have received which you can then take away for your own records. We also supply tea, coffee and biscuits (even the chocolate kind!)
If you’re interested in volunteering with us, please start by registering for an account on our volunteering portal. Once your registration is complete, you’ll be able to view all available opportunities, sign up for the ones that interest you, and track the opportunities you’ve previously expressed interest in.
