Leading the Way: How to develop and deliver your own guided tours
Why not help others get out and about with archaeology by delivering a guided tour?
If you've ever thought about writing a guided tour of your local area or a favourite place but not known where to start, what logistical considerations to bear in mind or how to make sure you're audience can hear you, then this is the workshop for you!
Join Jim Butler, who develops and delivers guided walks and cycle rides across Leicester for the general public and organised groups of all ages in his "spare" time.
In this methodical workshop, Jim will highlight and discuss the different stages of planning and preparation for the tours, as well as legal and health & safety considerations for you to bear in mind. He will also answer questions and give tips and advice that he has gained over the years.
This event was delivered by the Council for British Archaeology and recorded on 20 May 2025 as part of our Out and About Archaeology event.
