Archaeology 2030 Celebrates the Council for British Archaeology’s (CBA) Festival of Archaeology

10:00 AM

Archaeology 2030 are delighted to announce a family-friendly event to celebrate CBA’s Festival of Archaeology, the theme of which for this year is Archaeology and Community at 2 Royal Avenue, belfast.

Archaeologists from HERoNI DfC (Historic Environment Record of NI) will be in attendance to demonstrate the NI Sites and Monuments Map Viewer, using this as a tool to help anyone interested in exploring the history and prehistory of their local area (or anywhere in NI)!

This event is suitable for families and individuals of all ages, with other activities including colouring-in and games for children (or for any grown-ups who want to get crafty); as well as a selection of replica prehistoric pots and stone tools for handling, with tools and guidance from archaeologists to create detailed illustrations to take home.

Archaeologists will be on hand and happy to answer any questions, as well as explaining the role of HERoNI and HED (Historic Environment Division) DfC.

This a free drop-in event, and you are welcome to spend as little or as long as you like. We look forward to meeting you!
