Come along for a summer's day of archaeology and heritage in the picturesque Charnwood Forest. The Friends of Grace Dieu Priory are proud to be supporting the Festival of Archaeology by hosting an open weekend at the historic Grace Dieu Priory ruins, Leicestershire. You'll be able to take a guided tour (Sunday at 2pm), have a go at excavating in a trench, browse an exhibition of finds from Grace Dieu and wider area, and bask in the summer sun with a cool refreshment as you take it all in! Guidebooks and other publications will also be available to purchase. This event is completely FREE (although donations are always welcome) and open to all ages.
N.B. - any child under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times, particularly if taking part in the excavation. For more information, see the CBA Festival of Archaeology Safeguarding policy.
