Meet outside the Butter Market, Mountsorrel, LE12 7BA.
This is a guided walk through Mountsorrel and the surrounding area, looking at the history of transporting granite from Mountsorrel Quarries to all parts of England using road, rail and canal. We will also look at any existing buildings and structures connected with granite quarrying. This walk is about 1.5 miles long, part of which is on uneven footpaths, so suitable footwear is essential.
