Hodgemoor Woods Heritage and Wellbeing Walk

Multiple dates and times available

Connect with like-minded people and get active on a circular walk around the Hodgemoor Woods Site of Special Scientific Interest. Take notice of the development of the landscape, where we will see evidence of 2000 years of occupation. Learn about the Romano-British settlement, the best preserved section of Roman Road in the Chilterns, medieval Ridge and Furrow ploughing, visit the site of the 17th century Pest House, explore evidence of the extraction of raw materials for brick-making, see evidence of early 20th century ornamental water gardens, and the remains of World War II occupation and post-war resettlement. These ancient woodlands have something for everyone!

This walk is entirely on rough woodland paths and bridleways, which are muddy when wet.
