We are launching a multi-year community test pitting project in North Petherton, aimed at uncovering the historical development of the village over millennia. This initiative will engage residents and landowners of all ages in the local community, inviting them to dig 1m square test pits on their properties. Participants, supported by archaeologists within the QHG, will record the depth and type of artefacts or materials discovered, providing valuable 'data points' that contribute to our understanding of the village's evolution.
