At the Portable Antiquities Scheme Roadshow event, you will be able to meet your local Finds Liaison Officer and learn about the Portable Antiquities Scheme, a scheme which is run by the British Museum and Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales to encourage the recording of archaeological objects found by members of the public, in order to help advance knowledge of the history and archaeology of England and Wales.
There will be a small display of information, and some archaeological objects will be available for handling during the opening hours of the John Lewis Leicester store.
This weekend event supports an on-site exhibition, created by archaeologists from University of Leicester Archaeological Services, which will tell the story of the archaeology revealed by the excavations which took place between 2003 and 2006 in advance of the construction of the Highcross Leicester shopping centre.
