Stanford in the Vale Archaeology and History Pop-Up Museum and Test Pitting
Multiple dates and times available
Come and see displays on the history and archaeology of the village of Stanford in the Vale, Oxfordshire, from the Mesolithic to Modern periods in our Pop-up Museum. Explore the current findings from the Archaeological Research Project undertaken in the village since 2008, including evidence for a Roman settlement, large Saxon village, and the growth of the settlement into a town during the medieval period, and then subsequent collapse into a village by the end of 14th century. The museum will include finds material on display which has been recovered from excavations in the village.
Also come and see what is being found during live archaeological excavation of test pits on the Millennium Green, during this weekend.
