Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre and the Neath Port Talbot branch of the Young Archaeologists' Club are joining up to explore 20th century underwater archaeology. In 2003, under the leadership of Rik Saldanha, the engine of a Sunderland flying boat, was raised from the waters of Pembroke Dock. Today much of the engine can be seen on display in the local museum, but on the 13th of July, parts of T9044 will be brought to Neath, where Rik will guide us through the challenging process of conducting underwater archaeology on the wreckage of 20th century aircraft.
