Irchester Field School
Sarah Scott (University of Leicester) and Ben Donnelly-Symes (Northamptonshire Archaeological Resource Centre) from the Irchester Field School (IFS) team will be giving a brief introduction to the IFS project covering how it started and what has happened so far. They will give an overview of the archaeological history of Irchester and touch upon the wider collaboration and engagement elements of the project including working with volunteers, students and schools.
Uncovering Roman Carlisle
Nick Henderson from the team at Uncovering Roman Carlisle will give an introduction to the community archaeology project excavating the largest known building on Hadrian's Wall - Carlisle's Imperial Roman complex. In this talk you will hear about the origins of the project, what has been discovered, and what makes a community archaeology project like Carlise's run.
