Archaeological Dig - What lies beneath Alfriston Clergy House?
Ever wondered what is under your feet?
Led by a National Trust Archaeologist volunteers will be opening up 5 test pits around the site. This is a rare and fantastic opportunity to peel back the hundreds of years and hopefully get a glimpse of what life might have been like. There won't be space in the trenches unfortunately, but visitors are invited to come and see archaeology in action.
There will also be a chance to get hands on with a fascinating display of our archaeological finds from medieval times through 20th Century on show found by gardeners over the years.

Parking: 500 yards across village (not National Trust). Please note there is no provision for motorhome or camper van parking in any of the car parks in Alfriston.
