Join us for a free, fun-filled family day exploring the fascinating archaeology of the Peak District. Drop in anytime and enjoy hands-on activities for all ages.
Try your hand at our archaeological dig pits and discover what lies beneath the surface. Build your own miniature Arbor Low, often known as the Peak District's "Stonehenge of the North", create a Bronze Age pygmy pot to take home, or follow our Castleton trail to learn more about the village's historic buildings.
Meet real National Park archaeologists and volunteers, ready to share stories, answer your questions, and reveal how we learn about and care for our archaeological sites and monuments. Castleton Historical Society (https://castletonhistorical.co.uk/) will also be there with their handling collection and display. Come and find out more about their real life dig.
