Made by Many Hands: A Heritage Craft exhibition

Runs throughout festival

Made by Many Hands is an exhibition that aims to celebrate some of the many crafts that have taken place in the Bradford District over the years.

We used the list that the Heritage Crafts organisation maintains for UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) to explore the collections and tell local stories.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of related workshops and events within the exhibition space and the wider Bradford Industrial Museum site - particularly the Heritage Craft Room.

Crafts celebrated in the exhibition include

  • Bicycle frame building
  • Brick Making
  • Blacksmithing
  • Canal Art
  • Clog Making
  • Dressmaking (specifically Maudella patterns)
  • Lacemaking
  • Letterpress Printing
  • Knitting (with Knitting Sheaths)
  • Patchwork
  • Stained Glass
