Nantwich Museum Geo-Trail: Archaeology and Nature

Runs throughout festival

Explore the town of Nantwich by deciphering clues and following co-ordinates.

Take part in our geo-trail. Following the clues will lead you on a short tour of the town of Nantwich. Each stop holds a secret about Nantwich's history.

Following on from our research project - 'Discovering Medieval Nantwich' - this trail explores sites of relevance to the ancient woodlands that grew here before the development of the medieval burgages. Archaeological digs unearthed medieval timber. The trees used to build Medieval Nantwich were around 250-300 years old when they were felled.

Pick up our activity sheet, follow the clues, and discover ancient Nantwich. An exploration of Archaeology and Nature.
