On the ground

The Formby Footprints

Runs throughout festival

Meet Merseyside's prehistoric residents and discover how costal change affects archaeology.

Local researcher Gordon Roberts photographed, catalogued, and made plaster casts of the footprints that he saw along the Sefton Coast. These footprints give us an insight into the people that lived in Merseyside 4,000 years ago as well as the animals they shared the coast with.
