Ever wanted to take part in a real archaeological dig? Join The Big Dig this July and work alongside expert archaeologists to uncover hidden history beneath Tregonning Hill, West Cornwall.
This year we’ll be investigating:
**Londonderry** – searching for evidence of two miners’ dwellings lost from maps in the late 1800s, alongside possible water wheel remains and historic water channels linked to Tregonning Hill.
**The Croft Site** – exploring the last remnant of Herland Croft, an area connected to historic tin streaming and a water system shown on the Godolphin Estate map of 1786.
Only 10 volunteer places are available per session, so booking is essential.
