The Nature of the Neolithic

Have you wondered what the landscape might have looked like 5000 years ago? Or what brought our predecessors here, to settle and to build these incredible monuments? Volunteer EH Guides will take you back to the plants and animals that would have welcomed those Neolithic settlers, and take a look at the living nature, including the lichens, at the site today. 

We will be at Mayburgh Henge from 11am to 2pm to explore the site with you, and free talks will be given by the EH guide at 11.30am and 1pm on the nature that would have surrounded the site in Neolithic times when the circle was built, and as we see it now, with an update on the latest archaeological findings at the site.
