Archaeology and Planning webinar: Illustrating how & why the system works

Archaeology and Planning webinar: Illustrating how & why the system works

The two webinars will explore how changes to the planning system are impacting the way that archaeology works within planning and how we can make the case for improvements to future provision in any future reform.

The webinars will present key messages distilled from more than 100 case studies of development-led archaeology which show how and why the current system adds value to planning.

CBA Executive Director Neil Redfern will also be on hand to talk about how we can all play a part in championing the value of archaeology by participating, celebrating, and promoting activities with communities and decision-makers!

This webinar is aimed at anyone who works, volunteers, or has a general interest in archaeology, and there is no requisite knowledge of planning policy or archaeology required.

The 2 webinars will be aimed at slightly different audiences:

  • The first webinar is aimed at professional archaeologists and others who work in or with the planning system, including local authority advisors, planners, commercial contractors and consultants.
  • The second webinar is aimed at anyone who works, volunteers, or has a general interest in archaeology, with no requisite knowledge of planning policy or archaeology.
